Every winter we hear from our customers seeking advice on mesh vs solid safety swimming pool covers. Most pool owners are wanting to make an upgrade from their standard “tarp” style winter cover to a much stronger, more permanent “safety” style in-ground swimming pool cover.
All LOOP-LOC mesh and solid safety pool covers come with a 15-year pro-rated manufacturer's warranty.
Mesh
Why is it important?
- Mesh Safety pool covers allow precipitation to pass through them leaving out leaves and other debris
- Typically cost less than a solid Ultra lock pool cover
- Mesh covers do not need a pump on top.

- Solid swimming pool covers do not allow sunlight to pass through. Preventing algae from growing
- Cleaner water usually leads to very little brushing, vacuuming, chemicals, etc in the Spring
- During winter a pump is required on top of the solid cover
